Daily Review
|
As part of our daily homework, we should read for at least 35 minutes at home every day, (weekends too!) We may select our preferred reading materials: classroom books, books from home or the public library, etc.
http://tweentribune.com is a daily news site where you will find the most compelling, relevant, and interesting news articles! Every time we read, we should record it on our reading log. The log will help us keep track of our reading throughout the school year. A copy of the reading log is included for download in the Resources tab in case you need to print another one out. |

- Parent Teacher Connection: Sign and return all contents from Take Home Folder
- Reading: Read 20 minutes & Respond to prompt in Reader's Notebook or looseleaf
Reminders:
* NYS Project & Summer Book Assignment is due tomorrow
In Readers Notebook: Make a Text to SELF, Text to TEXT and Text to WORLD connection with the book you are currently reading or read during the summer. (Each connection should be in full sentences: Include What and Why)
For example: Text to Self: In "The Dot," Vasti connects to me in that we both perservere through challenges. We are similar because when life and situations are difficult, we both are optimistic and never give up. This reminds me of the time this summer, when I began practicing to run races. At first, I was exhausted, in pain, and wanted to give up. However, with perseverance, (like Vasti), I continued to run and felt better about myself and achievements!
